NFL in talks to buy stake in ESPN
The National Football League (NFL) is in discussions to purchase a 10% stake in ESPN, according to CNBC’s Alex Sherman in a post on X.
The potential deal would involve the NFL exchanging some of its NFL Media assets for the ownership stake in the sports network.
Sherman noted that the size of the stake is “still a moving target,” suggesting that negotiations are ongoing, and the final percentage could change.
The talks represent a potential significant partnership between the major sports league and one of the largest sports broadcasting networks in the United States.
