I admire your intelligence, Accenture (NYSE: ACN) to acquire network intelligence firm Ookla

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) entered into an agreement to acquire Ookla, a network intelligence and customer experience analytics company, according to a company statement.

Seattle-based Ookla operates brands including Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics. The company employs approximately 430 specialists in software engineering, radio frequency engineering and data science. Ookla’s platform processes more than 250 million consumer-initiated network tests monthly.

The acquisition aims to help communications service providers, hyperscalers, and enterprises optimize Wi-Fi and 5G networks. Ookla’s testing platform captures more than 1,000 attributes per test, providing data for network performance analysis.

“Modern networks have evolved from simple infrastructure into business-critical platforms,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture. “Without the ability to measure performance, organizations cannot optimize experience, revenue, or security.”
