Food for thought, US Foods awarded $298.5 million defense contract for food supply

US Foods Inc. has secured a $298.5 million contract from the U.S. Department of War to supply food and beverage items to military services.

The fixed-price contract with economic-price-adjustment provisions was awarded to US Foods – San Francisco, based in Livermore, California, following a competitive process that received three responses.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity agreement will run for five years without option periods, ending on February 8, 2031.

Under the terms of the contract, US Foods will provide full-line food and beverage items to the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

The contract will be funded through defense working capital funds from fiscal years 2026 through 2031. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is managing the contract, which has been assigned the designation SPE300-26-D-3005.
