Chinese Market is booming, Tesla China sales rise 8.7% in March, extending five-month streak
Tesla’s China-made electric vehicle sales increased 8.7% year-over-year to 85,670 units in March, marking the fifth consecutive month of growth for the U.S. automaker.
Sales of Model 3 and Model Y vehicles produced at Tesla’s Shanghai factory rose 46.2% from February, according to data released Thursday by the China Passenger Car Association. The figures include both domestic deliveries and exports to Europe and other markets.
The Shanghai facility serves as Tesla’s manufacturing hub for sales in China and exports to international markets. The March sales figure reflects continued demand amid heightened competition in China’s electric vehicle market.
