Can’t catch a break, Bitcoin drops to $62k after Trump declares Iran ceasefire ’over’

Bitcoin fell toward $62,000 on Wednesday after a memorandum of understanding underpinning the U.S.-Iran ceasefire framework “was over,” following overnight exchanges of attacks between the two sides, while investors also awaited minutes from the Federal Reserve’s latest policy meeting.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency last traded 1.8% lower at $62,143.2 by 06:34 ET (10:34 GMT), after climbing above $64,500 in the previous session.

Speaking at a NATO summit held in Turkey, Trump charged that Tehran had violated the terms of their shaky ceasefire deal. “We make a deal, and everyone’s agreed. No nuclear weapons. We make a deal. They go outside, talk to the press, they say we never even talked about it. There’s something wrong with them. They’re cuckoo. As far as I’m concerned, it’s over,” he said.
