Blow the whistle. Amazon’s Zoox recalls 332 self-driving vehicles
Amazon’s (NASDAQ: AMZN) self-driving unit Zoox is recalling 332 vehicles in the United States due to a software error in its Automated Driving Systems that could create dangerous road situations.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced Tuesday that the software issue may cause the affected vehicles to cross or stop in front of oncoming traffic, significantly increasing the risk of crashes.
The recall affects Zoox autonomous vehicles currently operating on U.S. roads. The NHTSA did not provide details about any accidents or injuries related to this software error.
Zoox is a self-driving technology company that was acquired by Amazon in 2020 as part of the e-commerce giant’s push into autonomous vehicle technology.
