Blood money, Bruker acquires DISQVER blood infection detection platform

Bruker Corporation (Nasdaq: BRKR) has acquired the DISQVER® clinical metagenomics platform from Noscendo GmbH, adding metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) capabilities to its infection diagnostics portfolio, according to a press release.

The DISQVER® platform analyzes whole genome sequencing data directly from cell-free DNA in blood samples without prior cultivation, screening for more than 11,000 microbes and parasites in less than 24 hours after sample receipt. The technology is intended for use in research related to bloodstream infections, sepsis, endocarditis, and other severe infectious diseases.

Following the acquisition, DISQVER® remains available for research use only. Bruker stated it is pursuing registration of the platform for diagnostic purposes. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on Bruker’s fiscal year 2026 financial results.
