Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) shares climbed 1.3% to $268.96 in premarket trading on Monday following reports that Apollo Global Management (NYSE:APO) is in discussions to buy the company’s orthopedics unit.
The potential deal could value the orthopedics division at nearly $20 billion, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
An agreement could be finalized within several weeks, according to the report.
The orthopedics unit generated $9.3 billion in revenue in 2025. The division has faced thousands of lawsuits related to its hip replacement devices.
