ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW) acquires Payment Components to enhance payment platform
ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW) announced it has acquired Payment Components, a European fintech company that provides AI-powered financial messaging and Open Banking solutions. The acquisition will integrate Payment Components technology into ACI’s Connetic platform.
Payment Components, founded in 2014 in Greece, develops software for account-to-account payments, API management, and financial messaging. The company serves 65 banks and institutions across 25 countries and uses generative AI to streamline payment processes.
ACI is acquiring Payment Components’ technology, intellectual property, talent, and customer relationships. The Payment Components team will work with ACI’s developers to integrate expanded messaging features into ACI Connetic, which combines account-to-account payments, card processing, and fraud prevention in a cloud-native platform.
“ACI’s acquisition of Payment Components will further strengthen the capabilities of ACI Connetic, defining a new standard for how banks drive payment transformation and compete in the digital economy,” said Thomas Warsop, CEO and president of ACI Worldwide.
Sotiris Nossis, CEO and founder of Payment Components, said joining ACI represents “an exciting milestone” for his team and reinforces their work to help financial institutions adopt modern payment technologies.
ACI did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition. The company stated the acquisition is not expected to be financially material to ACI’s operations.
Payment Components’ software supports various financial messaging formats and helps institutions deploy localized payment schemes through its flexible messaging layer. The company’s solutions focus on transaction orchestration without requiring complex payment processing infrastructure.
