UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:UFPT) designs and custom manufactures components, subassemblies, products, and packaging utilizing specialized foams, films, and plastics primarily for the medical market. Their single-use and single-patient devices and components are used in a wide range of medical devices, disposable wound care, infection prevention, minimally invasive surgery, wearables, and orthopedics. Although that is their bread and butter, they also provide highly engineered products and components to customers in the aerospace, defense, automotive, consumer, electronics, and industrial markets.

When we compare UFP Technologies to these other two manufacturers with similar market capitalizations, we see that UFP Technologies presents superior statistics across the board. In fact, they have significantly better earnings per share, debt to equity, profit margins, returns on equity, and revenue growth year-over-year in relation to both Aspen Aerogels and Cadre Holdings. On top of that, they recorded a substantially lower price to earnings ratio than Cadre Holdings. Overall, their operation at a high clip has led them to pull in over USD 36 million in net income, which is well clear of their competition.
